In the interest of maintaining a distraction-free environment on school days, we do not entertain one-on-one visits for exploring the school for admissions. Prospective parents are requested to follow the process mentioned below. Please avoid phone calls regarding admissions. Please click the link at the bottom of this page and fill in the form. You will receive a response in 3 working days. If you do not hear back from us, please send a message to bss.admission@gmail.com to follow up. Kindly ensure that you read ALL the information on our website thoroughly to gauge if Steiner education could be the path for you as parents.

If you wish to actively pursue enrolment for the academic year 2020-2021, you are requested to ensure that BOTH parents attend the FULL sessions of Art of Parenting (AOP) followed by the Open Day. Both parents may attend the sessions together or on separate days. The AOP session takes place in the morning from 9 am to 12 pm. The Open Day session is on the same day in the afternoon from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. You can also attend the Open Day session separately later on in case you cannot stay back on the same day. Attendance of BOTH parents in BOTH sessions is a prerequisite for issuance of application forms. PRIOR registration is compulsory for attendance as we can only accommodate limited numbers.

Here are the steps for admission:

  1. Attendance by both parents for a session on ‘Parenting’ conducted by the school
As the first step towards our admission process, you are required to attend a session on ‘Parenting’. It is mandatory for both parents to attend this session. Once we receive your request through the form link (at the bottom of this page), we will send you details of the Parenting session. The session is held from 9 am to 12 pm in the dates given below (See Step 2 on Open Day for dates). Please email us your confirmation with the number attending and we will then reserve seats for you for the session. Please note that children are not allowed for this session.

Understanding Steiner education philosophy at a reasonable level to determine if it resonates with you is the first step in our Enrolment exploration process for parents. For a successful parent-school partnership in the years to come, it is important that parents have the enthusiasm and commitment to transform their own aspirations, lifestyle and parenting to support the journey of the child at the school. This session on Parenting has been designed to answer the ‘Why’ of Steiner (Waldorf) education and the roles parents play in this journey with their child. We hope that this session will help you connect better with the philosophy of Steiner education through an understanding of the developmental stages of a child. Since this session is being conducted by a parent of our school, it will give you an opportunity to interact with them and get their ideas and thoughts about their journey as parents in the school.

  2. Attendance by both parents for the Open Day conducted in the school
This session is held by teachers of the school and provides an overview of Steiner education. It will inform you of our approach towards education and the child. You will also get a glimpse into how the Steiner-Waldorf curriculum is delivered in the classroom by teachers, display of classroom work, a school tour and an overview of the history, management and life path of our school initiative. Attendance of this full session is essential for parents to make an informed choice for their child’s education at Bangalore Steiner School.

This Open Day session is held from 1:30 to 4:30 pm after the AOP on the same day. In case of constraints, one can attend the Open Day session at a later date.

  3. The dates for the AOP (9am to 12pm) and Open Day (1:30pm to 4:30pm) sessions are provided in the list below:

    • Saturday, August 31, 2019

    • Saturday, December 7, 2019

We charge Rs. 500 per person as a single fee for attending the AOP-Open Day sessions. Lunch will be provided on request. The bank details for the transfer will be provided once you register. The registration is confirmed once the payment is received.

  4. Application form for admission
This form is given out during the Open Day once you have decided to go forward with the admission process. The fee for the application form is Rs. 1000.

  5. Observation of child in the school or individually as the situation may require
This is organised considering mutual convenience of parents and the school to bring the child for an assessment. During this observation, a basic assessment is done on the child’s learning levels and needs to be addressed. The observation period is one day for a child seeking admission into Kindergarten or Grade 1. For all other classes, the observation period is one week.

  6. Parent interview
This is done to understand the commitment of parents towards the child's education and their willingness to be part of this journey. It is only after the parent interview that we would be able to assess and confirm admission for the child.

All these steps are necessary to complete the admission process.

NOTE: This is organised considering mutual convenience of parents and the school to bring the child for an assessment. During this observation, a basic assessment is done on the child’s learning levels and needs to be addressed.

To express your interest in admission, please click on the form link below and click Submit after filling out all the details.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are enquiring about admission for more than one child, please submit a separate enquiry form for each child. The sibling information will NOT be used as another enquiry based on entries in the comments field or email communication.
