CONSCIOUSNESS OF HIGH SCHOOLERS:
In Grade 9, we welcome 14/15 year olds whose inner life is now ready for rigorous intellectual education. Ninth grade explores polarities and contrasts, mirroring the physical and emotional changes that occur at this stage of adolescence, laying the foundation for nuanced and abstract thinking.
Rudolf Steiner says, this is the time when we must provide adolescent high schoolers with an environment that:
-
Generates within them, an interest in the world outside themselves.
-
Encourages them to examine the 'why', 'what' and 'how' of everything possible.
-
Enables them to question, discuss and debate.
