Our BSS community came together for a special project led by our head of administration and Ammas for this year’s Christmas bazaar — a handmade quilt created with love, teamwork, and creativity.
After a discussion with our Handwork teacher, materials were gathered and the Ammas learned the art of quilt-making, working on it during their free time. With a parent’s help, the beautiful quilt is now complete and was available at the bazaar for purchase. A short note was accompanying it, reminding the buyer that this is more than just a quilt — it’s a piece of BSS spirit to take home.

To make the fundraising process inclusive and pressure-free, a contribution box was set up at the stall with a base cost of mentioned (cost of the materials). Parents could contribute any additional amount they wished by writing their name and contribution on a chit and dropping it into the box. At the end of the day, the highest contributor would be chosen to receive the quilt, which will be delivered to them later.
This project, lovingly made by the Ammas, reflected the warmth, creativity, and sense of belonging that define the BSS community.

This handmade appliqué quilt is a true reflection of the spirit of our Ammas at BSS. Each Amma contributed a thoughtfully chosen piece of fabric, carefully hand-stitched and slowly brought together. What began as individual efforts came together through patience, skill, and shared purpose to create something truly beautiful.
Every stitch tells a story of care, creativity, and collaboration. More than just a textile, the quilt is a collective expression of inclusion, belonging, and community. It symbolizes how diverse hands, working with intention and respect, can create something meaningful and lasting—celebrating craftsmanship, togetherness, and the quiet strength at the heart of BSS.
Anyone who takes this quilt home, they will truly treasure it.
