Celebrating Sankranti with Joy and Reverence
Today our school celebrated the vibrant festival of Sankranti in collaboration with the students and teachers of Karenahalli Government School - inline with our desire to actively engage with all parts of the community around the school. It was their first time and it was wonderful to have them with us. The children of the school prepared cards for them and shared it with them at the end of the day. We hope this start can help inspire and nurture future exchanges and visits.

The event was a resounding success, filled with music, dance, and merriment.
The celebrations began with the reverent Puja of cows and the sacred Ganga Puja, acknowledging the vital role they play in our ecosystem. Our students then paid homage to the Panchabhutas – the five elements of nature – through a thoughtful ceremony.
The cultural program that followed was a kaleidoscope of colors and sounds. Our talented students enthralled the audience with energetic dance performances and melodious songs. The vibrant decorations and intricate rangoli designs added to the festive atmosphere, creating a truly immersive experience.
One of the highlights of the event was the Kolaata performance, a traditional folk dance that mesmerized the audience with its rhythmic beats and graceful movements.
In keeping with the spirit of community service, our School Amma's took the initiative to clean the surroundings, spreading awareness about the importance of cleanliness and environmental conservation.
The celebrations concluded with the distribution of sweet Pongal and Ellu-bella (ಎಳ್ಳು ಬೆಲ್ಲ) to everyone present, symbolizing the joy and gratitude that come with the harvest season. The event ended with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra, filling the air with peace and harmony.
In the spirit of Shankranti (Harvesting season), we also harvested Corn, Ragi and vegetables which were grown by the children of our school.
The Sankranti celebration was a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with their roots and experience the richness of Indian culture. We are grateful to the students and teachers of Karenahalli Government School for joining us in this festive celebration.
