We recently organised a workshop at school partnering with LVBL which is an organisation that works on sustainability living. It works on finding ways to reuse, recycle and upcycle household things. They also try to combine science and art in an educational context to enable students to participate and learn.
We invited them to BSS to conduct a workshop on making a bamboo fountain that uses the principles of gravity and mechanics. Since it was a focused workshop, participation by students was by registration only with limited numbers.
The students were divided into 3 groups and each group made one working model.
It was a day well spent working with our hands, learning a new skill, and getting creative with bamboo. The day was lovely and the children had lots of fun. We are looking forward to the next workshop with LVBL.
